We celebrated with going to worship and after the morning service, we gathered as a church family for the dinner hour. We stayed and helped with clean up and then came home to rest for a bit before going over to my parents for cake and giving of father day gifts. It was a good day that went so fast, but will always be in our memory.
This year we didn’t do a whole lot. Mother and father came over around 1 o’clock and we cooked out hamburger, hot dogs, and the fixings. Before the cooking began, father and son went on their daily bike ride and I cleaned up the house, got ready and began prepping food for the cookout.
The family left, we then decided to go to the neighboring town and shop some Memorial Day sales. It was a good day and the beginning of our family vacation for that week.
This year, it falls on Thursday. If you have driven past or been to a Walgreens recently, you’ve probably heard of Red Nose Day.
What it is you ask?
It is to aim to end child poverty by raising money and awareness for kids in the U.S. and around the world. $1.00 to purchase a red nose from Walgreens and when you do they ring a bell to let everyone in the store know a red nose has been purchased.
This year my mother and father came over after morning worship and we cooked out hamburgers and hot dogs.
The last Sunday of April was a mile stone birthday for my beautiful mother. We went to worship and following the service we had the April Birthdays and Anniversaries.
